General Info & FAQs

Who am I? I’m Christin Baumgart, a licensed professional tattoo artist based out of Nashville, currently tattooing at One Drop Ink Tattoo Parlour and Gallery on Jefferson St. I’m in my 30s (don’t ask a lady her age!) and I’ve been making art my whole life, and tattooing about 5 years now. I love that I get to put my art on people’s bodies, and if you are reading this I’m stoked you are considering working with me. Check out my portfolio here and on Instagram @tattmaus and I’ll answer some frequently asked questions below, if I haven’t answered yours specifically hit me up!

Frequently Asked Questions…
I want to get a tattoo… what’s the first step?
Reach out to me! Give me all the details you can think of, write me a novel, tell me everything I’d need to know: idea, placement, approximate size, etc, send me as many reference pictures as you want, I promise I want to know it all. Unsure or leaving it up to me? Let me know that too, I love being given artistic freedom, but I need to know how wide I’m allowed to swing and still make you happy. Please be patient with my replies, expect a day or 2 between messages, (so give me all the info up front instead of making me drag it out of you day by day lol). If you have a specific timeline please include that up front!
Do you have a minimum?
At One Drop Ink we have a shop minimum of $120 for tattoos. It is not our aim to be the cheapest shop in town, and even the smallest of tattoos requires drawing, stenciling, and expensive supplies, and a simple tattoo will still take around an hour at the shop. This is permanent, take it seriously!
Do you do coverups?
This is going to be on a case by case basis, but I don’t have the experience to take on large and difficult coverups confidently. If it’s a small old tattoo being absorbed into a large piece then it’s no problem, or if it lends itself easily into a cover up (can I do florals? Large florals can cover lots things) we may be able to come up with something. I won’t take on any projects I’m uncomfortable with executing. However I really enjoy doing reworks, so send me some pics and let’s see what we are working with.
Will I see the design before my appointment?
NO I do not send out designs ahead of time. I will have a design ready for you to approve at the beginning of our session, and we can make any necessary changes together. This is for a multitude of reasons including design theft, nitpicking, and time constraints, but if you like my past tattoo work you should feel confident we will arrive at a design we both love.
Schedule/How far ahead should I book?
From first contact right now I can generally get you in within 1-6 weeks. Weekdays are available much sooner within a 1-3 weeks, expect 4-6 weeks if you require a Saturday. I tattoo Tue-Sat, large projects I prefer to begin at 1 PM when we open during the week, on Saturdays my first appointment is available at 11 AM. Sunday/Monday I am only available by special request at a premium, or for large groups with a lot of up front notice. For small tattoos I may slide you in at random times in the afternoon/early evening. As with everything else, let me know your scheduling requests, and we will see what we can do!
If the options available on the online booking don’t work let me know, I can be flexible.
Do you take a deposit?
(I really wish I didn’t have to) But experience has taught me that I simply must take a deposit to protect my time and money. I take a $100 deposit at the time of booking to secure your time slot. This is not an additional fee, it will be taken off the price of the tattoo at the end, however it is NON REFUNDABLE. This is equally true if you cancel, no show, show up 30 min past your appt time, or otherwise decide not to get the tattoo. I offer one penalty free reschedule if 48 hours notice is provided. Deposit is valid for 6 months, at which point it is forfeited.
